A little about us
We care deeply about this area and the people who live here. Our roots run back more than 80 years as we have provided electric service to our rural community, so you might say we've grown accustomed to this place.
Our past is important - it's what's brought us to this point. Just as cooperatives once brought electricity to rural America, we are once again making history—empowering our members and communities with the connectivity needed to thrive in today’s digital world.
But what truly excites us is the future we are building together - friends, neighbors, and community.

Co-op Community Connect, a division of Central New Mexico Electric Cooperative, was created to bridge the digital divide in our rural and underserved communities.
Through grant funding and the cooperative spirit that has guided us for generations, we are bringing reliable fiber broadband to socially vulnerable areas that have long lacked proper internet access.
Additionally, the fiber network will also benefit the co-op’s electric members by improving power outage response times and providing more efficient electricity delivery.
Community
Central New Mexico supports our local youth and community through a variety of programs, including our annual Youth Tour, and scholarship opportunities.
We also proudly contribute to local initiatives through sponsorships and donation requests that help strengthen and uplift the communities we serve.
